Alan D. Frazier
Frazier Healthcare Ventures Managing Partner


Mr. Frazier is the founder and managing partner of Frazier Healthcare, which over the past decade has raised five funds that have been invested in more than 60 companies, with over $750 million of capital under management. He has been integrally involved in growing several successful early-stage companies into national prominence-such as Immunex, Affymax, Affymetrix and Alexza-and has secured premiere deal flow through early-stage investments such as Tularik and CV Therapeutics on behalf of Frazier Healthcare.

Previously, Mr. Frazier was the executive vice president and chief financial officer of Immunex Corporation. Later, he served as the senior financial advisor and chief financial officer of Affymax. Additionally, Mr. Frazier was head of the Emerging Business Practice and co-head of the Technology Practice for the Seattle office of Arthur Young Company (now, Ernst & Young). Mr. Frazier holds a B.A. in economics from the University of Washington. In addition to evaluating biotech and medical device companies for Frazier Healthcare, Mr. Frazier currently serves on the boards of Alexza MDC, GenoSpectra, Inc., Portola Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and Rigel, Inc. (NASDQ: RIGL). In addition, he has served on the boards of Array BioPharma, Inc. (NASDQ: ARRY), GenQuest, Inc., InControl, Inc. (NASDAQ: INCL), OnHealth, Inc. (NASDQ: ONHN), NeoPath, Inc. (NASDAQ: NPTH) and PatientKeeper, Inc. Mr. Frazier also serves on the Board of Trustees and is the chairman of the Strategic Advisory Committee of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, is a member of the Advisory Board for the University of Washington Business School and is the chairman of the University of Washington Medicine Industry Advisory Committee. He also serves as an Advisory Council member for the J. David Gladstone Institutes, University of California.
